I'm Terry Shelton
I'm a product leader, entrepreneur, traveler, husband, father, personal growth advocate, and founder of NCURAG.
I am also The Reinvention Voice for 40+.
For more than 30 years, I have worked in the technology industry, helping organizations solve complex problems, improve customer experiences, adapt to change, and turn ideas into meaningful results.
Technology taught me how quickly the world can change. Life taught me that people must be willing to change with it.
But reinvention after 40 is not about pretending your past never happened or recklessly starting over. It is about recognizing the value of everything you have already learned—and repositioning it to build a life that fits who you are becoming.
Your experience is not baggage. It is the foundation for your next chapter.
Why Reinvention Is Personal to Me
In 2019, I received a kidney transplant after living with Polycystic Kidney Disease.
That experience changed how I think about time.
It gave me a deeper appreciation for health, family, relationships, opportunities, and the gift of simply being here. It also forced me to confront a truth many of us avoid:
We should not wait for a crisis to start living more intentionally.
A second chance means very little if we return to postponing everything that matters.
That perspective shapes NCURAG. I do not believe life after 40 should be defined by decline, regret, or quietly going through the motions. I believe it can be a season of clarity, growth, meaningful adventure, and purposeful reinvention.
I am still building.
Still growing.
Still exploring.
And still becoming.
I want to encourage you to do the same.

I understand why reinvention can feel risky after 40.
You may have a family depending on you, financial responsibilities, an established reputation, and a lifestyle you worked hard to build. Advice telling you to "just quit" or "follow your passion" ignores what is actually at stake.
NCURAG takes a more practical position:
Reinvention should expand your life—not unnecessarily destroy its foundation.
That means testing ideas before making major moves. Building future-ready skills. Protecting your career capital. Creating options. Thinking honestly about money, time, health, and relationships. And making decisions based on evidence rather than frustration alone.

More Than a Career
Although technology has been central to my professional life, it is only one part of who I am.
I love automobiles, sports, travel, entrepreneurship, emerging technology, personal development, and experiences that bring people together. Some of my most meaningful memories have come from road trips, family vacations, new destinations, great conversations, and moments that pulled me away from a screen and back into life.
Travel has taught me that changing your surroundings can change your perspective. Personal growth has taught me that lasting change requires action. Technology has taught me to stay adaptable. Family has taught me why any of it matters.
NCURAG brings those lessons together.
